1. Who we are
HakiSuite is operated from Nairobi, Kenya. References to “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to HakiSuite as the data controller of personal data processed through this website and our marketing channels. For personal data processed on behalf of our customers through the HakiSuite platform, please refer to our Data Processing Addendum.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect personal data you provide directly (for example, when you book a demo or contact us), data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and data we receive from third parties such as enrichment and analytics providers.
3. How we use personal data
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, provide and improve our services, send you information you have requested, comply with legal obligations, and protect our legitimate interests.
4. Lawful basis
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, we rely on consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests as applicable to each processing activity.
5. Sharing personal data
We share personal data with service providers acting on our instructions, with professional advisers, and where required by law. We do not sell personal data.
6. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, including by relying on the safeguards set out in Part VI of the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
7. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy and to comply with our legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
9. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorised disclosure.
